El Mercadito brings together local entrepreneurs, community and culture
El Mercadito is a vision that emerged from our people to create more spaces to gather and celebrate culture through food, music, art and activities. For centuries, our people have worked in essential jobs such as agriculture, timber and tourism greatly impacting Southern Oregons economy and its culture. Our communities have been disproportionately affected by the climate crisis, and housing crisis we are living through today, costing our communities our sense of belonging and ownership over our own future. Today our team makes an effort to elevate, center and prioritize the comfort of our Latinx, BIPOC and other marginalized communities by prioritizing LGBTQIA+, Latinx, and BIPOC vendors. However, everyone is welcome to apply. We want to be able to cultivate and grow this community.
